This is an attempt to provide a forum for the presentation of new work in the sphere of socio-legal research.
Our Topic:
"Language of illness"- Voices of Tamil women on perceived local knowledge on well-being and psychosocial intervention in the time of political violence in Jaffna.
Our Speaker:
Cayathri Divakalala.
Cayethri obtained her undergraduate degree in Psychology from Delhi University, India and continued to specialize in Psychology and Anthropology at the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia. She is currently working as freelance researcher. Her main areas of research interests rest on illness, well-being, psychosocial intervention, developmental interventions, family dynamics, and kinship relationships. Gender perspectives and concerns related to gender equity are crosscutting aspect in her research involvements.

Feminist engagement with issues of Sexual harassment in India
Our Speaker:
Ratna Appnender
Ratna is a 2nd year student at the National Law School University India in Bangalore. She has been an active part of campaigns around gender issues both within college and outside. One such involvement has been with the Blank Noise project, an initiative against street sexual harassment that works through an online blog to coordinate direct intervention.
